@103days It isn't the imitation that is the deciding factor. It's the intention to replace a creative product with an imitation. If Frito lay just had a gravelly singer they wouldn't get into trouble, but because they failed to get waits and then hired an impersonator means they are essentially using his brand without paying for it. That is why I point to the prompt language to show intention.
I agree that copyright is too broad and lasts too long, but copyright exists for a reason and an argument for equal enforcement of the law doesn't mean I'm "defending it". AI is literally being advertised as a market replacement not a creative decision absent of legal constriction. The case I cited is literally an artist defending his brand from a cynical market replacement.
