While I wouldn’t call him an ‘artist’ it’s hard to deny that there’s a level of skill involved in creating art pieces like the one he won that contest with even if you’re only entering prompts. Like yeah, anyone can get on and generate the same general idea he went for but it’s pretty obvious that piece wasn’t a first time render and was something he’d altered repeatedly to get where he wanted it. It may not take the same type of skill as a paintbrush, but pretending anyone with a keyboard has the mental capacity to instruct an AI to create something equally beautiful is overreaching imo
