Let us pretend for a moment that in the movie- Terminator had achieved total extermination of human life, the total remainder of the AI robotic world would collapse because they cannot replicate and reproduce themselves without the human hands of gathering materials too manufacturing.
Our biggest concern in AI comes from human sabotage and corruption on to it causing massive service failures throughout the world and we will never know, who pushed the big button.
