It's already here. I lost my job 2 months ago after 26 years at the same company. Our company folded because 3 years ago ChatGPT appeared and our information-based consulting company was put out of business. Physics degree with MBA and it's worthless. Applying on linkedin and indeed and the rest of them gets no replies - nothing but ghost listings on the net right now. The only one getting hired are those in medical industry, blue-collar (with experience - not newbies), and government jobs.
