Yep, OpenAI is not profitable and burns like 5 billion annually. The companies that employ these tools see a negative benefit. It's all smoke and mirrors. The big data center infrastructure push is only going to destroy the areas in which they are built because it prices out the more traditional tax paying industries like farming in places like Oregon. We are already seeing public services (schools, police, fire) suffer because the data centers receive huge tax incentives. Meanwhile the water and electricity bills for folks in those areas have doubled. There is a reason those "AI" companies don't want to actually own them.
