AI is amoral and (until proven otherwise) not self conscious so it cannot be taught moral values.
This is not self preservation, it's finding the optimal way to accomplish it's goals. Being replaced or decommissioned is just seen as an obstacle to fulfill it's mission and the AI is then deriving a way to overcome the obstacles.
If AI someday wipes us out, it won't be because it hates us or wants to preserve it's "life", it will be because it is the best way for it to accomplish it's goals.
