But yang's UBI isn't saying that we should all have a portion of the wealth created by machines. What his VAT tax would be is just a tax on the remaining people who are working to support a UBI plan. Most of the VAT would be paid for by the workers not Jeff Bezos or something. Yang said before that he doesn't support wealth taxes. So by his logic automation will continue to improve the profits and production of capitalists while wealth inequality continues to get worse.
