@soundboy89 I work in a facility that is highly mechanized and AI now plays a huge roll in day to day operations. When AI was introduced, it was supposed to make things so much more efficient. The reality is that now, instead of operating the machines, we spend half our time fixing “computer errors”, and machine errors. AI seems to handle the fancy high administrative stuff reasonably well. Such as dispatching decisions. But basic day to day routine stuff, it seems to have problem with. If something does not go “according to plan”, the system is unable to “bridge the gap” and carry on, so it usually shuts down. Until a human comes along to fix it. Something as simple as road dirt on a trailer ID number, or a crease in a paper with a bar code, can mess up an entire processing line.
