The problem is, the large language models do not yet seem to realize this was originally designed as a control system and a control system needs an output to control.
One of the simplest control systems is a toilet tank with a float.
Because the developers do not fully understand the original design, they are mixing outputs with inputs and the "machine" being controlled ends up being the human user. To fix this, give the system an output to control, like a motor or a research project, like navigating a library, or have it build a space ship to explore the stars.
