Why do people think blue collar jobs are going to be safe? They’ll eventually be consumed by AI too. Especially electricians, plumbers, etc. Any able bodied person can do those jobs when they slide on some AI glasses and it tells them EXACTLY how to fix an issue, exactly what tools to get, etc. We aren’t far off from that at all. Most people can basically do everything you’d need to do with a simple YouTube video. Imagine in a few more years when AI will help you do the rest of the work.
The proponents of AI have done a great job laughing with blue collar workers at artists, creators, and white collars losing their jobs. But soon they’ll be brought down to earth too. Adios to truck drivers. Bye bye to any delivery drivers from mail to pizza to ride shares.
And this is without complex robotics involved. Once they’re able to make robots that can do manual labor, it’s game over. I would say the only jobs safe then are jobs centered around repairing robots. But they’ll likely have robots that can repair the robots 😂
