@Blacksun169unfortunately crimes, especially of a sexual nature will continue to happen, regardless of if there’s a lot of social media & revolutionary technology like ai. it wouldn’t be as large scale tho. the nature of social media coupled with generative ai & deepfakes makes it so that anyone with a phone & even just a small social media presence means virtually anyone (women, predominantly) is at risk of becoming a victim. you don’t even have to have a phone or a social media presence yourself. even just going out in public on a normal day, because nearly everyone else has a phone & social media presence. & the photos/videos are at risk of being seen globally. it’s really tough because the internet & social media is what helps get these cases attention & more awareness, but the internet & social media is also what’s making it possible for cases such as this to even occur
