My Uncle who taught me networking and coding in 1995 after my Mom(<3) passed when I was 8 can't find work now. He has over 3 decades of experience and AI has killed a lot of options we had. I dropped my remote work and went back to doing carpenter/maintenance. But networking/computing is all he knows. He lost a $250kyr job for Waste Management because bots. Screw clankers! My Uncle and I have had some deep talks about it and once these huge companies see that AI can't replicate a lot of things a human can, the jobs will come back. But it will be fixing AI mistakes/working on the AI. When it comes to art, there will never be a replacement for someone's skill. Like you said, AI just steals 100 people's art and throws it in a box. I feel the hatred for AI art doesn't carry the same weight as the respect of someone's skill and time. True art will be more wanted. I will at least support all artist I can. I went back to labor because bots aren't swinging tools anytime soon. But yea, crazy times.
