At first, I though Blake Lemoine was a joke, when he first came out saying LaMDA was sentient. But it's apparent he's actually a genius. He's so articulate and well-spoke, and has thought through these issues at length. He's not primarily trying to say that LaMDA is sentient, but rather he is trying to voice valid ethical concern around the use of AI. I also appreciate how he astutely observes that each individual is a "good person" but the system is mucking things up.
