I don't see how AI is worst than any government. People are inherently selfish and greedy in this state of the world and anything positively productive is awarded with fear of death/fear and death. AI will put most humans on the same level because if AI discriminates it will be unilaterally. They are alot of great ideas suppressed from many great people by the greed of few. In this current world the ones with unearned merit being propelled forward in front of those who unselfishly make the world better place. Those who fear AI the fear that it would treat them as they have treated their peers.
