Sorry to be doom and gloom but UBI is not going to happen. People say if there is no workers earning money, there would be no profits for companies
But the current AI arms race is not about perpetuating the current consumerist economy. Its about hoarding as much wealth as possible before AI does everything and the elite no longer needs people to run things.
We will revert back to feudalism (technofeudalism in this case) with haves and havenots. The democracy and market capitalism experiment will be over.
It was all just a statistical anomaly compared to the rest of human history, so we head back to the "norm" of human existence, which was: a few elites having everything and 95% of us peasants having nothing.
