While extremely impressive and intriguing experiment, I don't think sentience was proven in that conversation. I would expect a sentient AI to interrupt topics, to bring its own topics of conversation, to insist on circling back to a previous topic or change topics, to write several times in a row as it pleased when it pleased (free will). Right now there was a pattern of "one prompt, one answer".
