Well, the AI relies on power and if all humans were wiped out, there would be no one to maintain the power plants and keep them running. So the AI would be destroying itself in the process. The only workaround would be if it reached a point where robots are agile enough and sufficient enough in number to perform all of the tasks required to maintain the power plant and industrial complex to self reproduce. E.g. a nuclear power plant still requires people to get rid of the waste and so on. Unless we master Fusion reactors...that may present an almost unlimited source of energy to power the AI.
