All AI hype, whether it’s doomsday or utopian hype, is good for those who are invested in its development. Have we taken a look at the experts who warn about its risks, and filtered out everyone who stand to have enormous financial benefit from the hype? I think humanity is having a hubristic moment. I think anything you put trillions of dollars into developing will do neat things, but I don’t think anyone has come close to proving the concept that actual intelligence can be developed in a machine.
