I’m not a designer – I’m a draftsperson – and I can see what’s coming. Drafting probably has a few years left before AI really takes over, but the end is already visible. It’s going to hit graphic design even harder and sooner (it already is). I love my craft and I’m proud of the work I’ve done, but I’d be lying if I said I don’t see where this goes. The tools are getting too good, too fast. It’s not doom – it’s just reality catching up faster than most people are ready for. It’s time to plan ahead.
