Honestly, I think the real issue isn’t AI replacing jobs...it’s that our "education to workforce" systems haven’t adapted to the 21st century. We’re still educating students like it’s the industrial era, but the job market now moves in real time and demands a whole different skill set.
What if we rethought what we teach: less rote memorization to pass a test and more systems thinking, moral leadership, emotional intelligence, and fluency in AI tools and data. I also believe industry should clearly communicate what human skills they still need so education can actually align to that to ensure graduating students are prepared for the reality of a changing job market.
I really don’t think AGI will do everything...AI replaces "tasks", not careers. Which means there will always be a place for human judgment, ethics, empathy, and creativity...but we need to innovate the way we educate and train people for those skills if we want them to thrive in this new, AI-driven world. And if we get that right, I believe entry-level graduates of the future can be 20X more productive than the previous generation.
