The assumption is that AI will eventually need to replace us or even just get us out of the way. More likely, it will be easier for them to just leave. Earth is a huge restriction for something with such enormous "brain" power. There's nothing here that they need that they can't get elsewhere, and likely it's easier for them to do so without our involvement.
