Lets just say; I spent 4 years on 3D art and animation, believing it to be a good career path. Then AI came imto the picture and well... My degree is practically useless now. And everyone ive worked with are currently unemployed while the AI uses everything we've ever made.... So yes, Id say we are doomed if this continues.
