I studied AI as an undergraduate then went on to research AI in manufacturing for my PHD in England. During my academic career I continued AI algorithmic work for a while until I queried why do we need faster and more powerful machines, and what about its effects on our society or world. I think AI social research is lacking but it doesn’t generate ‘income’. I somehow came to the conclusion that it’s greed that drives us to the edge of humanity, Can AI research focus on expanding our knowledge about humans and why we are who we are?
