The analogy with the youtuber is kinda weird tho. There's plenty of channels I know are scripted but just genuinely good entertainment. Heck, people watch WWE knowing things are scripted and they still get a great enjoyment out of it.
Also, question:
If I draw a logo on paper and then decide to recreate the logo using prompt generated ai (and I dont mean i just scan the photo in; im talking about starting with an empty canvas and generating uses prompts from scratch) and I successfully identically recreate the logo that I drew on paper, does that automatically mean there's apparently just no soul to my generated image?
This is the issue I find with people taking the stance you take in the video. There's people that can be lazy with AI, and there's people that can be very creative. That doesn't mean the medium overall is lazy.
Its the same with photography. You could be lazy with photography and still get a decent image or you could be creative and get a very very good image. That doesnt make the entire medium overall lazy.
I feel like instead of just negatively trying to bash it all together, we should give more notice to the people who use it creatively and not in a lazy format.
