AI in its current form is sort of a mixed bag of amazing features, okay features and stuff that doesn’t work. It’s no surprise that some people are going bananas about it, overestimating it and overhyping it. I use ChatGPT sometimes, and it’s sometimes helpful, but it does make some errors, so I’m careful about how I use it.
The hype cycle graph seems right. Unless some truly amazing new stuff comes out soon, I’d say we hit peak hype, but that hasn’t been fully processed yet. (The denial phase of grief.)
