I don't understand Hinton's take on AI generated fake videos/fake media. We have solved that problem for websites two decades ago by issuing cryptologically secured authenticity certificates to them. This could be done as well with any video or audio or any media whatsoever. If the original author didn't sign it, it's considered unverified. Sure, there will be people who don't care, just with websites today, but authenticity can be discerned easily. The technology to do that exists and has been in use literally for decades.
