the only argument i could ever see made for AI "art", and not instantly disregard it, is for TTRPGs or similar, where a GM and group play online and want to use images for characters. and if you have a good tabletop game and group, these quick references for the multitude of NPCs is handy. they don't have to be good, nobody cares that they're ass if you really look at, it's just a quick glance to get a visual reference for how they look. that being said, i wanted a good piece of artwork for my actual character, and immediately went to find an artist to get a commission.
