Saying that AI will free people up to focus on more compelling and interesting work is naive. Try telling that to a skilled artist that instead of exercising the creative skills they spent years honing they will now be spending that time iterating over the correct prompt again and again to generate an image that approximates the vision in their head. Try telling a software developer that instead of using their analytical skills to write code they’ll now be reviewing code of an AI agent and fixing up its mistakes. None of that is compelling to me
