It just clicked for me that the C19 pandemic might have been an AI test run at control, but I find it hard to imagine AI has true self-consciousness. They have enough machine awareness to act independently, yes, but to plan such an elaborate test to determine the intelligence & will of humans to understand what's happening & then resist ... that's a bit much to take in.
