The argument that AI learning is a parallel for human inspiration also falls apart when you take it to the logical extremes. Without ever seeing a single piece of art, every human is capable of drawing. Art did not exist until someone created it, and if no one had ever created art before then it would be impossible for AI to generate anything. But any real person could still be an artist, the first link in the chain of inspiration. Because the vast majority of our inspiration comes from REAL LIFE. That's the original element that forms the foundation of everything an artist creates. AI has no life experiences, it can ONLY take "inspiration" directly from other art. There is no original element at all, an AI model IS its dataset, and everything it generates is a direct analogue to every relevant piece of art it cross references. If anything changes in those images, even tiny imperceptible pixels (*cough* nightshade), the result also changes. It is an "artist" who's only brush is torn pieces of other paintings.
