Let's look at this argument from a Work-For-Hire perspective. Company A has an idea and contracts a programmer to write an app. Company A has no knowledge of programing and no control over the creation of the app. Company A then copyrights the app. From the perspective of the argument being made against AI content copyrightability, Company A shouldn't be able to copyright the app because they had no control over it's creation beyond the "idea." Just saying.
