AI shouldn't be used offhandedly and generally, in my opinion. The catastrophic effects which will likely fall on whatever area has an AI center planned to provide the energy these programs require will be felt nationwide. They need massive amounts of clean water, drinkable water, to cool the units. Grey water isn't good enough for these things (they will not function if grey water was used for cooling, and the water used quickly becomes unusable and undrinkable or even evaporates entirely). These also demand huge amounts of electricity, and several of these AI data centers that have been installed have been given highly preferential deals from the electric services, with the electric providers instead increasing the cost to people who live in the community and small businesses. AI needs to be reined in ASAP.
