January alone lost almost 110,000 jobs in the U.S. only around 5,000 new jobs for the same month. There have been other announcements made already for mass layoffs across a large number of businesses seeing numbers of around 230,000+ over the next couple of months with the same or less new jobs. This will probably continue on a logarithmic scale. It's not entirely AI replacing people but companies are laying off people to invest into AI infrastructure to eventually be able to fully replace more people. The stock market may continue to look good due to these circular investments but the consumer economy is going to take a hard nose dive we're already getting a taste of that and its only Feb 6. The unemployment infrastructure and systems we have in place are not good enough to handle all of this happening so quickly and we have people managing core government agencies that have zero experience, with no desire to really fix things that bought their way into gov via donations and sycophancy. This can go really bad really fast over this and the next year.
