Raw LLM Responses

I was thinking a lot while watching the chapter on the topic of disabled artists etc, I'm not physically disabled, though I do have colour vision deficiency. At no stage in my current journey of learning digital and traditional art have I seen generative AI as a good option. For reference images, or just to "create" a final piece. Championing GenAI for disabled artists is undermining the nature of artistic desire along with the willpower and talent that artists who are disabled have embodied. It is downplaying the abilities of a group of people who are fully capable of achieving their own goals and growing their skills in their own way. The image output from GenAI is always so sloppy and inconsistent looking that I have no confidence in using it as a way to improve, I have even less faith in the colours of GenAI "products" than I do in my own eyes, which time and time again have failed me. I hate how idiotic I feel while painting, or simply picking a colour on a colour wheel in CSP, but learning how to do it and how to show my own perspective of the world and colour is so much more rewarding and personally fulfilling than getting a bot to smash together a bunch of artistic knowledge and skills that more talented artists have spent years conquering. Sitting down to make anything and having a finished product isn't something that someone choses to do simply because they want the finished product, learning to make it, and learning how to overcome mistakes or misunderstandings of a medium to finally achieve something you're proud of, to me is what the point of art is. Having the freedom to just take ideas, and murmurs of something you like or sometimes the accidental spark of personal bias or memories inspire a piece of art is something that cannot be done with GenAI. As more and more people are falling into a crowd who would rather ask ChatGPT something instead of being wrong or talking to another person with experience for help, I am genuinely worried that people are becoming lazy and complacent with an algorithm creating something for them instead of actively applying themself and learning.
