So if I read 100 books and then write my own book taking inspiration from all the 100 books I have read, do I break the law? My book is totally unique. There is nothing copy-paste from any of the 100 books I have read yet if i have not read those 100 books i would not be able to write my own book because i would have no idea how to do so. Maybe my main character is very intelligent yet shy and I decided to make him that way because there was a character in book 52 that i liked a lot and he was that way. Then I made him to be a short, fat guy with glasses which resemble the appearance of a character from book 14. I also decided that his left arm is a robotic arm and there of course was a character with a robotic arm in book 82 and also book 39. He is very smart yet shy so in my book he is a scientist that works alone on some secret project. The same plot idea of 'highly intelligent, shy, ugly, mad scientist working alone' was in books 3, 51, 93 and 15. As the book progresses we learn about my main character's childhood and why he became the way he is. You get to know that his childhood was difficult, that he never had friends, that his family rejected him. Similar childhood as characters from books 1, 76, 22, 9, 91, 56 and 42. And so on, in fact at this point it's impossible to write a totally qunie book. Give me any book and I can point out that all the elements (characters, plots, ideas, places etc.) were already used in other books. Or look at movie industry 1 in 2 movies main plot idea is that the main character is saving the world from something.  So a human can legally read 100 copyrighted books then write his own book taking ideas for characters, plots, appierences, places etc. and that's totally fine because human did it? If an AI takes 20 000 copyrighted images and uses them to create a totally unique one, is that wrong because AI did it? The problem here is with people being afraid of losing jobs, fair point but that happens all the time. Machines and programs replace people in all industries, that's called progress. Hopefully at some point we won't have to work at all and we will be able to focus on bigger things such as why do we even exist? Exploring other planets, inhabiting other planets, finding life, maybe finding intelligent life in the cosmos. Maybe we will be able to unfold why anything exists at all. So of course for most people it's great news that they can now create high quality art for close to no cost. I paid something like 150$ for a small  logo a few years ago that I needed for my website. Now I asked AI to generate such a logo and guess what? The logo generated by AI was 200000 times better than one made by human and I paid for it maybe 0,05$.
