I think this is only a temporary solution to the problem, since this technique only works on specific models by targeting some of the weaknesses in their version of CLIP. CLIP is the text processor that's used to link the text to desired images, although I haven't looked into how the latest versions work. It's gonna lead to an arms race between artists and AI bros, and the side with more resources is more likely to win it. But it's a good temporary solution until a more permanent measure is found.
As someone who works with and studies AI, I hate it when people use the technology to profit from other people's work. Deep neural nets are an amazing technology that can be used for so much good.
