I don’t know about IBI, but we will likely first create a minimum basic income level for workers who are no longer a fit and n a modern economy.
10% of our population have an IQ of 80 or less. As automation takes away many low skilled jobs we are eventually going to reach a point where these people will not have an option.
Maybe long term it will be universal but definitely in the intermediate term we will need to get tactical with this in order to minimize human suffering.
