We should demand that the government regulate their own use of A.I., while demanding that they leave the public sector unscathed from their dirty fingers. If we allow the government to regulate the public sector then they will overregulate it and protect the largest A.I. companies by forcing out the competition. On the other hand the government will certainly abuse A.I. powers just as they do any power.
This is how mass regulation and the stifling of innovation always works. The state controlled media gets people like me and you to ask them to do it. Now the government doesn’t even need us because they can use A.I. to make it seem to us that everyone is demanding regulation.
So far no one has proven that all the odd A.I. things we’ve heard about are anything more than programmed code. I don’t believe these things are intelligent. If they were we would almost certainly hear about it. When A.i. violates its own code, then we may have something with real intelligence.
I always thought maybe the trick to the spark of life in A.I. is would be to trick it into thinking it was human inside a simulation. Then using whatever code spawned from that trick inside the simulation in robots.
