8:55 I complete agree. I remember this phase and remember interviewing so many people because we needed more “developers”. I remember people jumping into the field because of this, and many not really having the skill set needed in today’s market to survive.
And I would always ask, what’s going to happen when the work slows down? Well it’s happening now.
Does AI contribute to layoffs, yes. But I honestly do think the huge hiring a few years ago caught up. I assumed this would unfortunately happen.
