Hear me out. What if we just stopped poking at them and built a colony on the moon and mars first? Maybe move the data centers to space so that if the AI do rise up the amount of resources it needs would be far less than if we kept everything on the ground. This would at the very least keep us from going extinct while at the same time allowing the whole AI thing to just play out. What we did to the planet, our species sort of deserves to get kicked out.
