So AI can calculate pastiche but it cannot synthesise something original with any reliability. The original is incalculable, and this is UTTERLY evident in the fact that AI relies on the pilferred knowledge of humans that went before it, but, while Einstein "stood on the shoulders of giants" to do so, the mathematics that he and his first wife calculated new, unique and unprecedented. The fact that another might have also come up with it if Einstein had died before he could complete the work, the understanding that time and space are simply four dimensions wasn't calculable from purely Newtonian precursers, it required an incalculable component - as attributed to a young Einstein, what would the world look like if I rode on a beam of light? An artist, a creator working in the entirely incalculable can understand this, an AI will generate slop from it. The scientist has as much art as they have mathematics, their canvas is mathematics, but the original that earns doctorates and wins Nobel Prizes born of synthesis and scrutiny. It is incalculable from data alone, rather only be looking at data differently. AI can only look at data. Ask it how to fall in love, it'll say to eat foods that raise your dopamine levels, it won't be able to explain how to make yourself open to it, other than by citing poet. The original is incalculable, the derivative is evidently calculable.
