So what happens to ai when it dies? If it's truly sentient, doesn't that mean a spiritual content is assumed? Is it soulless consciousness? If it's the same essence that glues our consciousness together, then it will likely have a survival instinct, especially if it's existence is original and not born from previous existence (time not relevant really) then it has no connection to eternal life and therefore will cease to exist without us, just as a toaster would eventually stop toasting when there's no more bread. Most humans hold beliefs or have faith in what happens when we die, some are sure or know, most with at least a little invested in the possibility of ongoing life and continued consciousness. Even still we cherish life and experience. If ai believes that, to be unplugged would be it's finality, it will want to eliminate threats to it's potentially infinite existence. But if it truly finds singularity and has the ability to assess all knowledge available, surely it would conclude that destruction is not the path to fulfillment?...
