Internet and mobile did get rid of alot of jobs but created new ones, the problem is if they destroy more jobs than they create, in which there indeed would be a loss of jobs
Also tech-enabled jobs have a higher barrier for entry than other jobs, people from lower class backgrounds who did not have access to technical education would be hit the hardest by AI
