The tail-lights thing is completely on point. Driving 30 years with good vision and a clean record, and there's ONE, SPECIFIC traffic light near my home that, at night, has fooled me multiple times into thinking there's a braking car ~15m in front of me. Because the road takes a slight rise, and rolls over gently, and back down to the distant intersection where the two stoplights hang steady & level above. I know the road, the intersections, the traffic patterns, the lights.. I strictly know better. But my own algorithm still instinctively interprets those lights that particular way, and I have to make sure it's not a stopped car 15m ahead and instead a traffic light 1km ahead, and override my own bio-brain algorithm.
