not defending AI art, just explaining the thought behind it (similar to explaining the thought process of a serial killer, i don't agree with their "reasoning", but it just explains why they do it)
Their argument that you still need to be "artistic" when using AI art, that an "artist" can see what the AI did wrong in a specific composition and make corrections out of that. The "AI artist" in this scenario are knowledgeable in artistic terms e.g. shadowing, color theory, brush theory, etc. in which an amateur can struggle to see the significance in a composition, while an "artist" can see it immediately and "fix" the generated art either by entering specific prompts or manually editing it themselves (but most of the "AI artist" i've seen do not fall into the category of an "artist" - someone that knows art theories - as most AI art i see are purely just AI generated).
AGAIN, this is just explaining their thought process as i've seen both sides of the arguments. I do not particularly agree about their statements, but its still interesting to talk about.
