Whenever I see these white vs blue collar comparisons I always wonder, why are they are so selective about the examples? Aren't jobs like drivers (trucks, cars, trains) and delivery & transportation considered blue collar? Why are they not mentioned in automation? Or what about jobs such as cashiers that get replaced with self-serving terminals, are they now white collar jobs too? From where I am standing it seems there are a ton of BOTH blue collar and white collar jobs that will be replaced just that conveniently all the blue collar jobs that are being lost are left out.
