The perception of AI art is distorted. The art of history is curated, only the best is remembered, preserved. The lesser works are forgotten, painted over or never published. This makes historical art seem better than it really was. The reverse is true with AI art. EVERYTHING gets published. Some systems have no way to delete or hide images, or people may not know how. So there's almost no curation. We see everything, good bad and ugly. This creates a distorted comparison to historical art.
