It's not the AI that's boring. It's the person creating it. Because many people don't give AI the details about a piece. They just write "cool landscape" and thus the AI provides a generic 'cool landscape', which indeed has nothing special because nothing special was prompted. If you however would specify all the details and things that landscape has to be and tell part of a story, then the AI will create something very interesting and a storytelling landscape.
bottom point is that AI only interprits what you give it. If the user lets the AI fill in all details, those will be generic (and thus boring)
