There is a reason those in the AI community serious about the creation of visuals are adopting the term 'director' and leaving the term ai artist for those who go out and do traditional art before and/or after the image generation. Directors are just that they direct the ai to assemble something and a shitty directors will not pay attention nor care for details and bring nothing original or transformative. Where decent directors can explain most of the work of the piece they generated.
It also annoys the hell out of me when I seen some artist I been following for years getting accused of doing AI art. Years as in before even ai could even do finger paints.
As for slop, slop existed before AI. Hell all of my hand drawns can be boiled down to generic sci fi slop. Anyone can go into them and tear them apart to where I stole every idea from and I had zero originality no matter how original I think it was myself, just someone had the same idea I did. Just need enough exposure to the internet to garner enough people to dislike your work.
