I work in advertising and have seen this happen more times than I can count.
AI got to our industry before anyone else. No industry has gotten more investment in the field of AI and deep learning than advertising. That is literally Facebook and Google’s entire business model and what has powered research in the space for decades.
They’re constantly automating away the easiest parts of our of our jobs and demand for our skills has grown exponentially at the same time as millions of new businesses rise on the backs of these platforms.
Still, my peers clutch their pearls year in and year out saying that AI is going to put us on the street. Apparently this time it’s different!
